Ads in Google News search results

Yesterday, Google announced that it would begin displaying text ads in its Google News search results.

John Battelle says the ads will kick up a storm of complaints from news outlets that provide Google News’s content but won’t make dollar-one off the advertising. But Adam Ostrow at Mashable thinks it won’t be such a big deal because, like Digg, Google News only aggregates headlines and leads.

CNET also covered the bare-bones facts of this.
