Mervin Block

In today’s research, I came across the Web site for Mervin Block, a veteran television news writer who has written for all three major networks and for anchors like Walter Cronkite, Tom Brokaw and Charles Kuralt.

I’ll be pulling some pithy and useful blog posts out of his site this afternoon and tomorrow, but I thought I would share one quote from the site right away.

“To become a writer of any consequence, you need broad experience, competence in English, a good vocabulary and something to say.”

More to come.
